Target General Infomation
Target ID
T25889
Former ID
TTDR00979
Target Name
Adenylate cyclase
Synonyms
ATP pyrophosphate-lyase; Adenylyl cyclase
Target Type
Discontinued
Disease Cardiac failure [ICD10: I50]
Cancer [ICD9: 140-229; ICD10: C00-C96]
Function
Catalyzes the formation of the second messenger cAMP from ATP. Its transcript is probably degraded by endoribonuclease LS (rnlA), decreasing cAMP levels and the negative regulator Crp- cAMP, which then induces its own transcription again.
BioChemical Class
Phosphorus-oxygen lyases
Target Validation
T25889
EC Number
EC 4.6.1.1
